Just Words For Now

The Missoula valley has a blue ceiling this morning. There is a full pot of coffee at my disposal and two dogs who are content to lay in the grass. I am dedicating this space as a place to capture in words what I couldn't on camera. A place to carve out ideas and think through life events.

Hiked to the top of Mt. Sentinel today.  Enjoyed the bright sun, deer, birds and sitting in the grass.  I spent about three hours on the mountain hiking around which was a nice break after a week of school.  In a month I get to hike Mt. Whitney.

The dogs are wrestling in the front yard.  Something about who was able to chase off the robin.  Our golden, Makai, is winning the dispute over his older sister Sydney.  Makai typically has a smile on his face and follows his sister under or around most of the fences where we live.  Makai can't get under the backyard fence where Sydney's lab qualities shine.  She can climb a chain link fence and limbo under any barrier.  She has been so persistent leaving the backyard we just let her loose with a dog tag that reads "Hi My Name Is Sydney" and our phone number.  Now that she is five-years-old it doesn't seem to matter.  She likes staying close to the house and enjoys barking at the horses four hundred yards away and any car that drives up the dirt road we live on.

Today the Missoula valley is blue sky with cotton ball looking clouds heading in from the West.  The birds are chirping and a Cessna is flying by.  It's one of those cool air hot looking mornings here in the Big Sky.  I would run and get my camera but it is more enjoyable to sit and drink coffee.
